Leader of the National League for Democracy and State Counsellor of Myanmar Meets with Huang Kunming

Nay Pyi Taw, July 10th--Aung San Suu kyi, Leader of the National League for Democracy and State Counsellor of Myanmar, met here today with a CPC delegation led by Huang Kunming, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Huang conveyed the warm greetings from General Secretary Xi Jinping to Aung San Suu Kyi. He said that China-Myanmar relations have enjoyed a sound momentum of development, with frequent high-level exchanges and continuously deepened political mutual trust. China supports Myanmar’s efforts in maintaining its domestic peace and stability and achieving national development. China is ready to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two sides, carry forward the traditional friendship between China and Myanmar, continuously deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, strengthen exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration, carry out in-depth people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and consolidate the political foundation and public support of China-Myanmar friendship so as to promote China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.

Aung San Suu Kyi asked Huang to convey her best wishes to General Secretary Xi Jinping. She expressed that Myanmar and China are good neighbors and good partners. Myanmar thanks China for its sincere help and valuable support over the years. Myanmar is willing to work together with China to intensify high-level exchanges between the two countries, push forward the construction of the China-Myanmar economic corridor, and strengthen bilateral cultural exchanges so as to promote the continuous development of China-Myanmar relations. The National League for Democracy of Myanmar cherishes the relationship between the two parties, admires the achievements and ruling experience of the CPC, and is willing to further deepen the exchanges of experience in state governance and administration.

During his stay in Myanmar, Huang also met with Myint Swe, Vice President of Myanmar, and Than Htay, Chairman of Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar. He also attended and addressed the launch ceremony of the Burmese version of the book Xi Jinping: the Governance of China and the opening ceremony of the China-Myanmar Seminar on the Governance of a Country with Tun Tun Hein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Myanmar, and Aye Thar Aung, Deputy Speaker of the House of Nationalities of Myanmar.
