Zheng Xiaosong Meets with Incumbent and Former Chairmen of Japan-China Economic Association

Beijing, July 13th—Zheng Xiaosong, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Izawa Tadashi, the chairman of Japan-China Economic Association and Okamoto Iwao, the former chairman of Japan-China Economic Association.

Zheng said that China and Japan are close neighbors cannot be moved away. Peace, friendship and cooperation are only correct choices for both sides and common expectations of the two peoples and international community. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan relations, both sides should earnestly summarize beneficial experience and inspiration in the last 45 years, abide by the four political documents and the spirit of four-point principles consensus, make efforts to enhance political mutual trust, deepen economic and trade cooperation, expand non-governmental exchanges and truly reflect the willingness of improving China-Japan relations in policies and actions.

Izawa Tadashi and Okamoto Iwao said that the Japan-China Economic Association is pleased to see the increasingly enhanced improvement momentum of Japan-China relations at present, and is willing to continue to carry out works and promote bilateral practical cooperation in economy and trade, so as to build up more positive energy for the development of bilateral relations.
