Beijing, March 10th--Shen Beili, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today on the morning with Andrejs Pildegovics, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
Shen said that China-Latvia relations have achieved considerable development in recent years, both sides have conducted close exchanges at all levels and steadily boosted cooperation in various fields. The "Belt and Road" construction and the "16+1 cooperation" have injected new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to, on the current sound basis, further enhance exchanges with main political parties of Latvia, so as to push bilateral relations and regional cooperation for continuous development.
Pildegovics expressed that Latvia is satisfied with the sound momentum of the current bilateral cooperation. Taking the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and the "16+1 cooperation" promoted by the Chinese side as great opportunities, the Latvian side is willing to play a greater role in regional cooperation.
