At the invitation of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Zheng Xiaosong, Vice-minister of the International Department of CPC Central Committee led a CPC goodwill delegation to visit Pakistan from December 18th to 21st.
On December 19th, Nawaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Prime Minister of the government met in Islamabad with Zheng. Sharif expressed that the Pakistani side is willing to spare no efforts in building the Pakistan-China economic corridor and enhance exchanges between both political parties. Zheng said that the CPC is ready to deepen communication and mutual learning with all political parties in Pakistan, including the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), so as to promote China-Pakistan relations to continuously develop.
During his visit to Pakistan, Zheng also met respectively with Maulana Ghafoor Haideri, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and leader of the Muslim League (Nawaz), Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and Chairman of Pakistan-China Institute as well as others, and attended symposiums held by think tanks, friendly personages and media, during which he introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.
