Beijing, November 4th--The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held a thematic briefing here on the morning on interpreting the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee for high-level foreign diplomats in China. Over 220 high-level diplomats from over 130 countries, including more than 70 Ambassadors to China or Charge d'Affaires ad interim were present.
The briefing was hosted by GuoYezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. Miao Qingwang, Director of the Research Department of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Tian Peiyan, Director of Party Building Bureau of Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee introduced the overall situation and main spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, explained relevant contents of the Norms of the Political Life within the Party under the New Situation and the Regulation on Supervision within the Communist Part of China approved at the session in details, and conducted interaction and communication with diplomats.
Diplomatic envoys in China expressed that the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee is of great significance. The concept of “the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core” put forward by the session will vigorously enhance the leadership of the CPC, and the practice of comprehensively strengthening party discipline will consolidate the foundation of the CPC and smoothly realize China’s goal of reform and development. Diplomats noted that by attending the briefing, they have acquired a deep understanding of the the major spirit and significance of the plenary session. They will report it back truthfully and let their governments and political parties fully understand this important meeting.
From October 24th to 27th, the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee was held in Beijing, which has drawn great attention from the international community. The aim of the briefing is to actively respond to the international community’s great attention to the session.
The thematic briefing aims at promoting the international community's understanding on major policies and ideas of the CPC. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the IDCPC has hosted thematic briefings after all previous plenary sessions at the earliest time possible to invite relevant department heads to offer authoritative interpretation on the spirit of the sessions to the outside community.
